Fine Art
Here you will find a variety of drawings and paintings I have made over the years. Mostly the media is either graphite, watercolor or gouache, ink, acrylic or oil and in some cases a combination. Below you will find some discussion about the various types of artwork I’ve done. If you would like to go directly to the Artwork Gallery, click on the image here to the left. Most of the artwork was originally photographed in a very minimal setting simply as a record-keeping exercise. With that, there is some glare, reflections and other anomalies present in the images so just enjoy as is or send me a note.
I have several paintings that I have scanned and have reproduced using the Giclee printing method. These pictures can be ordered in a variety of sizes based on either height or width and can be printed on either a canvas or high quality paper. If I were to characterise my work in a general way I would say that it represents a variety of moments in time. They are for the most part, simply being in the moment, being active and letting things flow out without too much pretense. My key thoughts are Play, Look and Balance. As those aspects revolve through my consciousness, windows of resonance appear. It is at that moment the picture is done but as it so often is with play, just a few more dots, and the window closes until it opens again when the picture is back in resonance.![]()
One area that I have done a lot of work in is that of abstracts using the pen. The pen and ink drawing is more durable than graphite and so I opted for durability. There are several styles that I have worked in and I am working on grouping them together in separate galleries.
The Star Maidens’ Circles have been another area of interest for me. These have been painted with gouache on paper. The Star Maidens’ Circle comes from the teaching of the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path. It is the main driver wheel and key for those teachings. These pictures do not teach the information of the keys but are simply a visual expression of the interplay and overlay that the wheels have when teachings are formulated in a circular manner.
All the still life works are painted from actual still life arrangements. Most of the portraits are from sittings and some were obviously otherwise. Most of the landscapes are from my birthplace in India, the Himalayas, and were derived from photographs I took on several trips back to that area.
